Pre-School (3 - 4 year olds)

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum includes weekly themed units that encourage your child's curiosity and increases confidence through teacher directed and child self-directed activities. Children will engage in activities that promote:

All Preschool children will work on mastering the following skills:

• Holds pencil correctly
• Writing & identifying all the letters of the alphabet correctly
• Recognizes and writes their name correctly
• Recognizes that all alphabet letters have a phonetic sound
• Counting 1 – 20 in English
• Counting 1 – 10 in Spanish
• Identifies a triangle, rectangle, square, circle, oval, diamond, heart, star, trapezoid and octagon
• Can draw the following shapes: Triangle, rectangle, square, circle and oval
• Can identify colors in both English & Spanish: Red, orange, yellow,
  green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, and white
• Can follow 1 – 2 step directions (ex: get a pencil and sit at the table)
• Enjoys circle time and can sit for at least 10 minutes
• Holds scissors correctly
• Talks in full clear sentences
• Displays manners in the classroom such as: Saying please, thank you, excuse me, and can take turns.
• Talks respectfully to the teacher and fellow classmates.
